Hallly Bear

Here are Hally's preschool pictures. My friend Breeana started a photography business and is doing awesome at it! Take a look at her blog here. She has been so busy! Everyone wants her to take their pics! She offers her amazing photography skills at a low price, because she's just starting out and said that's what she would want to pay if she hired a photographer. Agreed! I'm glad to have found a good photographer that I can afford, because my usual photographer (my sis) has moved far, far, far away!

My soft spoken Hally is so sweet and petite. About a month ago I had gotten up a little earlier on a Saturday morning and started making breakfast. Bacon, eggs and hash browns. Hally came downstairs and said, "Mom, is it Father's Day today?" Tim and I were laughing so hard. I guess that tells ya just how often I make breakfast.

Also a couple months ago I was trying to get Hally to clean the toy room which is a CONSTANT battle. She's either too tired, too thirsty, too hungry, her leg hurts, she has an ouie and needs a band-aid, etc, etc, etc. So anyways, this particular day I was trying really hard to get her to clean and I finally said, "If you don't clean your room than you will be grounded." I have said this to Addi a couple of times in the past, but never Hally. Immediately after I said this to Hall, she started crying uncontrollably saying, "I don't want you to put me in the ground!" Needless to say, I felt like the most terrible mother in the world to scare my little girl like this. I explained what grounding really meant and she quickly calmed down and decided she would rather be grounded and go without her friends and toys for a few days then have to clean up. Then she turned and went downstairs. This response didn't surprise me at all. Yes, she's my stubborn, defiant, sweet and tender child and I love her oh so much!

Best Halloween Party EVER!

Last night we had so much fun at a Halloween party. Thanks Stacey's! Tim hadn't dressed up since he was a kid and me since college. I made my dress out of garbage bags and electrical tape and wore a white wig and some cool pink shades and called myself Lady Gaga. Tim was a little hesitant about dressing up. In fact he said that he'd rather speak in church than dress up. If you know Tim, then you know that he WON'T speak in church, meaning that he DID NOT want to dress up. I at least got him to put on a wig and sunglasses. Me on the other hand, I was pretty excited to be someone else for the evening. Once we got to the party and everyone else was dressed silly, I think Tim loosened up a little.

They had soup, homemade root beer, donuts and everyone brought a treat to share. We played lots of fun games. (I don't know their official names.) 1. Put your hand in the bag and guess what's inside. 2. A pass along scary story 3. Fun candy game 4. BeanBoozled - The jelly bean game (my favorite). You spin the wheel and it says a yummy flavor and a yucky flavor. The jelly beans for both flavors look exactly alike. If it's the yucky flavor you lose, but if it's the yummy flavor you're still in the game. The flavors are:

Canned Dog Food - Chocolate Pudding, Skunk Spray - Licorice, Rotten Egg - Buttered Popcorn, Centipede - Strawberry Jam, Booger - Juicy Pear, Baby Wipes - Coconut, Barf - Peach, Moldy Cheese - Caramel Corn, Pencil Shavings - Top Banana, Toothpaste - Berry Blue

Tim got baby wipes and I got canned dog food. They were gross!

We had such a fun time with lots of great friends! I'm hooked and hope I get to go to Halloween parties every year now! Thanks again Stacey's, you throw an awesome party! :)

THE DINOSAUR MUSEUM

HELLO! The dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point is AWESOME! I can't believe this is the first time we've been. I'm seriously considering getting a pass to TP, it's like $170/year for the whole family and you get unlimited access to the museum, farm and garden. AND if you take guests with you, it's 1/2 off for them! My nice neighbor, April, has a pass and invited us to go with them on Monday. It's a rare occurrence that I can ever actually go anywhere during a weekday, but lucky me I randomly didn't have any daycare kids that day, so off we went!

A HORSE PARTY

I love scrapblog.com. You can make the cutest invites and then just have them printed at Wal-Mart. I made 20 invites and it cost me about the same as it would to buy them in a pack and handwrite them. I like these kind, because you can design them yourself and personalize them with a picture.

Two days after Addi's birthday she had a friend party and oh my goodness, did we have a house FULL! We had a total of 16 kids (not including Kendall or the daycare kids) at her party. Good thing it was only 1 1/2 hours and I enlisted the cute 11 year old neighbor girl, Mady, to help me out. Addi is in love with horses right now, so we decorated the house with horse/cowgirl stuff. When the kids arrived they decorated horseshoes (I tried to get real ones, but that didn't workout, so they decorated foam ones instead), played a few games including: pin the tail on the horse, find the horses, horseshoe walk and sugar cube racing. We also ate horseshoe cupcakes (that kind of look like red and white U of U cupcakes, oh dear!) and opened presents. All of the little cowgirls and cowboys went home with a decorated horseshoe, a bag of goodies and a cowboy hat. What a fun, yet exhausting party! I LOVE to plan parties, LOVE IT! BUT, maybe we will start doing friend parties every other year, we'll see. It was so fun to see how excited Addi was to have ALL of her friends there, so it was totally worth the mess and craziness!

Addi's 6th Birthday!!!

It was Addi's 6th birthday on October 2nd. She's getting so big!! We started the day with waffles for breakfast, which was Addi's choice. Then we got ready and headed to Salt Lake to watch the Jazz scrimmage. It was fun to watch and Hally and Tim got on the jumbo-tron. I'm really excited that Raja Bell is back, because his eyes twinkle and he has a nice smile!;) So anyways, we only stayed at the game for one quarter, because it was ADDI'S birthday and although she was a good sport about going to the game, I'm sure she wanted to do something more fun. After the game we headed to The Gateway to watch Legend of the Guradians. It was an okay movie, but we were all kind of bored of it by the end. After the movie we walked around The Gateway for awhile and then got lunch at McDonalds. After lunch we stopped in at The Clark Planetarium (formerly called The Hansen Planetarium). It was free to walk around and look at everything. I hadn't been there since I was a kid, so it was neat to go back and see it again. The kids loved it! We got home at about 6pm and opened presents and had some horse cake. There are pictures below of our fun day.

We made a sign on the way to the game that said, "It's my 6th b-day! I want to meet D-Will!" It didn't work, plus Addi was too shy to hold it, so Hally held it most of the time.

We're so lucky to have such a good little girl. I went to Addi's parent-teacher conference last week and she got all 4's which is the best you can do. Her teacher went on and on about what a good student Addi is and how much she likes having her in class. Mrs. LeBaron is giving her advanced reading homework cause she's so dang smart! We love you Addi and we're so proud of you and hope you continue to excel in school for 12+ more years!
