I have taken a liking to black nail polish. Remember back in the day it would probably be considered "gothic" to have your fingernails painted black? Well, now a days it seems like everyone has their nails painted black (okay not everyone, but quite a few people) and I love it. Some of you may still consider it "gothic", but for me it is chic. What do you think? Chic or not chic?

Everyone has a drink of choice, right? This is mine, ice cold Dr. Pepper. I have quit drinking it so much and I don't keep it on hand because I know it's not good for me, but every once in awhile it's a "must-have."

Fabulous Fall!

Here are five reasons why I love the fall and consider it a "must have:"

 

1. The autumn leaves are exquisite and don't forget how lovely the crisp, cool air is. I love going for drives up the canyon to take in the beauty of the leaves changing colors, what a remarkable thing!

2. Who doesn't love going to the pumpkin patch? Pumpkins make me happy. Most of my harvest decor consists of different shaped and textured pumpkins.

3. This is reason enough to love the fall, cute little trick-or-treaters!

4. Thanksgiving! A time for togetherness and good food. I have so much to be thankful for.

5. Fall decorations. I love fall decorations.

Sorry all of you PC users, I have to boast about my Mac. Tim gave me this lovely machine for Christmas. I had only ever used a PC before and it took me awhile to get used to it. Well, I have to say that I will never go back to a PC after experiencing the brilliance of my Mac:-) Isn't it cunning? There's no tower! It's all wrapped up into one piece of heavenly bliss! I tell ya, if your computer is about to die, look into getting a Mac and experience the joy for yourself.

Is there anyone who doesn't love this store? I have to have my target! I love everything they have, from their clothes (mine and kids), shoes, accessories, home decor....... I love everything about it!

"MUST-HAVE" MONDAY

GLITTER TOES!  I love these!  I had them done last week and they're my new favorite.  They're just like gel/acrylic fingernails, except on your toes and they're glittery!  They last for 4-6 weeks!  I think I am hooked.  If I can't get my fingernails done due to organ and piano playing, then I will just get my toenails done instead.  I have never been a foot person, but even my funny little toes are undeniably cute when they glitter like this!  I know the cutest lady named Shamie that will come to your house and do it or you can go to her house.  She is coming out to my mom's house to our family BBQ to do 6 of my family member's toes because they saw mine and just had to have them.  Then in August I am going to have a Glitter Toes Party.  If more than 4 people come, then they're only $15 per person, so if you want to come, please let me know!!  We will have a great time visiting, eating treats, and giving our toes a little TLC and cuteness!

GARGANTUAN glasses!  In 20 years I will look at this picture and say, "What in the heck was I thinking?!"  But for right now, I heart BIG sunglasses!

I am by no means a hair-dresser, but my friend Beth let me in on a little secret.  It's called Guts by REDKEN.  This is a root-lifter that works fabulous!  I just spray it on the roots of my damp hair, blow dry while my head is upside down, then.... Wahla!  Instant Va-Va-Voom Body!!

I generally don't spend money on name-brand hair products, but when something works this good, I am willing to shell out the bucks to have it.

I have to have flowers!!!  I love, love, love to plant flowers in the very small garden that I am alloted  living in a town-home.  My mom is a flower expert and has some beautiful gardens of her own.  I definitely get my love of planting flowers from her.  I remember helping my mom in her flower gardens every summer.  We would lay the flowers out on the dirt until we got the pattern we wanted, then we would go back through and plant them.  When we moved to our town-house, we pulled out the bushes that were here when we moved in, just so I could have more flowers.  What good is it if it doesn't blossom?  Good thing Tim appreciates a pretty yard/garden as much as I do.  This year we planted some of these:

"MUST-HAVE" MONDAY

I am kind of obsessed with having my house smell good.  There's just something about walking into a house that smells good.  Here are a few of my favorites:

1.  Scentsy is a great product to make your house smell nice and inviting.  You can buy a cute warmer and they have hundreds of scents to choose from.  My favorites are, Summer Sippin', French Kiss, Grove & Clove, Red Clover Tease & Cherry Clove Chutney.  You just put one cube of wax in and it will make your whole house smell sensational!

2.  Wallflowers from Bath & Body Works.  These are probably my favorite product for making my house smell magnificent.  You plug it into an outlet and the scents are just fabulous.  One bottle lasts for about a month, where the cubes of Scentsy wax just last a few days.  My favorite scents include Brown Sugar & Fig (this one is my absolute favorite!), Sweet Pea, Warm Vanilla Sugar & Cinnamon Vanilla.  If you're trying to sell your house, purchase one of these, I promise it will help you sell faster!  There is something about walking into a home that smells simply divine!

3.  Last but not least, the reed defuser.  I keep one of these in each of my bathrooms.  They're enjoyable to look at and they last a very long time.  I bought mine at Old Navy, but haven't been able to find them for sale on-line.  I have seen them for sale almost everywhere, including Wal-mart.  My favorite two scents from Old Navy are lime and guava.  Not only do they smell delicious, they also look pretty.

I love Downeast Basics clothing.  I especially love this Wonder Tee.  I wear one almost everyday as an undershirt.  They're great if you are trying to achieve the "layered look."  They come in almost every color and are only $9.99.

I consider paint a "must-have" because I think white walls are boring!  Painting is one of the easiest and cheapest ways to decorate a home.  Add some color to reflect your personality or your own personal style.  Don't tell me you're not "daring" enough.  If you consider painting some color on a wall daring, you probably have a pretty bland life.  You don't even have to paint bright colors to make an impact.  Neutral tones (I don't mean different shades of white or off-white) are beautiful!  You can paint the majority of your home in the same neutral color with accent walls here and there.  Be BOLD, be DARING, be CREATIVE, and I promise you will love the end result and never go back to boring white.

I use this seasoning in many of my chicken recipes.  One of the number one rules to cooking (my grandma taught me) is to always, always, season your meat!  Even if it's just salt and pepper, it's so important to season your meat!  This holds true for every type of food I can think of that includes meat.  Whether it be the ground beef in spaghetti (before you put the sauce in), or canned chicken in a salad, you must always season the meat first.  To season the meat first always ads so much flavor.  It can make a bland dish a PAZAM dish!  This McCormick Montreal Chicken Seasoning is great for most chicken dishes just to give some extra kick!

I love this Pampered Chef Food Chopper.  It makes every chopping job quicker and easier.  You can chop things as small as you like and after you're done, just put it in the dishwasher!  If you don't have one, just click here to purchase one today!  It might seem pricey, but it's definitely something worth saving for.

I love the Swiffer WetJet for a quick and easy way to mop my floor.  All you do is push a button on the handle and the soap solution comes right out.  The mop pad is disposable and I love the smell of my house when I am done mopping.  I still use Pine-Sol and a scrubbing mop once in awhile for a deeper clean.  My cute little Swiffer just doesn't seem to clean deep enough, but I still love it for a quick mopping job.

Extra Large Ziploc Bags

I love these giant Ziploc Bags!  They're perfect for storing anything.  Before I found these, I put my kid's clothes in big plastic bins.  They were awkward and took up too much room.  Now I use these handy Ziplocs!  I put different sizes in different bags and then label them with a marker.  They are airtight, inexpensive, and don't take up nearly as much room.

Yes, I know that it is not Monday, but my sister has been bugging me to post because, oh no, I haven't posted in 4 days!!!  In that case I am posting this early.  I have decided to try and post my "must-have's" (maybe not every Monday, but sometimes).  "Must-have's" could include house-hold items, favorite apparel, and what ever else I decide is "must-have."  

Definition-

"Must-have:"  An object that I can't necessarily live with out, but makes my life just a little bit better, easier, or happier.

I don't know what it is about this product, I just love how it smells (many different scents), how it looks sitting by my sink & how it feels on my hands.  I have to have it... it is a "must-have."
