Addi's 6th Birthday!!!

It was Addi's 6th birthday on October 2nd. She's getting so big!! We started the day with waffles for breakfast, which was Addi's choice. Then we got ready and headed to Salt Lake to watch the Jazz scrimmage. It was fun to watch and Hally and Tim got on the jumbo-tron. I'm really excited that Raja Bell is back, because his eyes twinkle and he has a nice smile!;) So anyways, we only stayed at the game for one quarter, because it was ADDI'S birthday and although she was a good sport about going to the game, I'm sure she wanted to do something more fun. After the game we headed to The Gateway to watch Legend of the Guradians. It was an okay movie, but we were all kind of bored of it by the end. After the movie we walked around The Gateway for awhile and then got lunch at McDonalds. After lunch we stopped in at The Clark Planetarium (formerly called The Hansen Planetarium). It was free to walk around and look at everything. I hadn't been there since I was a kid, so it was neat to go back and see it again. The kids loved it! We got home at about 6pm and opened presents and had some horse cake. There are pictures below of our fun day.

We made a sign on the way to the game that said, "It's my 6th b-day! I want to meet D-Will!" It didn't work, plus Addi was too shy to hold it, so Hally held it most of the time.

We're so lucky to have such a good little girl. I went to Addi's parent-teacher conference last week and she got all 4's which is the best you can do. Her teacher went on and on about what a good student Addi is and how much she likes having her in class. Mrs. LeBaron is giving her advanced reading homework cause she's so dang smart! We love you Addi and we're so proud of you and hope you continue to excel in school for 12+ more years!

HAPPENINGS

1. Addi got her ears pierced, again. She had it done when she was three and I took them out for a couple days after they had been in for over 6 months and they completely grew in. Bad Mommy! She was so brave and just cried for a minute this time. She even paid for half of it with her own money.

2. Once again pictures showcasing what a good dad Tim is. I think he's so HOT in this picture! He got all the girls' pink Jazz jerseys for Christmas. Last night they were playing the Jazz game at the movie theater at the Jordan Commons so Tim took Addi and Hally. They had a lot of fun watching the cheerleaders and the Jazz BEAR! They got autographs from the Jazz Bear and he even shook Addi's hand. Tim said that Hally just seemed really nervous the whole time. They were in line to get pictures with the Jazz Bear and she just started crying. So no picture with the Jazz Bear.

3. Cute pictures of Kendall. Okay, I'll kiss ya!! :)

4. Proof that I am doing well on some of my New Year's Resolutions. We have been faithful with FHE. This has been a great way to bring The Spirit into our home. Also a great teaching and learning opportunity !! I have been drinking diet soda when I drink soda, but as for the rest of my resolutions... not so good. I guess accomplishing two of them is better than nothing.

5. We'll just call him Good Dad Tim. Making the kids Mickey Mouse shaped pancakes.

Deer in the headlights. I have to stop taking pictures of her in this chair!!

JAZZ GAME

Addi has been to several Jazz games with her dad, but this time I actually remembered to send the camera! She doesn't look very excited in this picture, but she actually loves going to the games, mostly to see the Jazz Bear. It was their lucky night because it just happened to be the Jazz Bear's birthday and so he had invited all of his fellow mascot friends for a birthday celebration. There were giant animal mascots running around all over the place. Unfortunately the Jazz lost to the San Antonio Spurs 100-106 and aren't looking too good this year due to many injuries, but at least it was a fun daddy daughter date.

HEARTBREAK AND TOURMENT

We have been grieving the last few days over the Jazz losing to the Lakers in the second round of the playoffs. The Jazz beat the Rockets in 6 games (if they were going to lose, they should have just lost this series so Tim wouldn't have had to feel so guilty about going to the Jazz/Lakers game on Mother's Day!;)), then moved on to the Lakers and lost in 6 games. Last year they made it to the Western Conference Finals and lost to the Spurs. Some would argue that the Utah Jazz is one of the best teams in the league as far as depth is concerned. A lot of teams have some superstar players, but look to their bench and they fall short. The Jazz on the other hand, have some amazing starters (no Kobe Bryants though) and a great bench, which makes them a strong team through and through...... then why can't they win a championship? I don't know. They have had so many opportunities, but just seem to always let it slide right through their fingers. Every year we have so much hope and then our hearts get drug through the mud! It seems now we have nothing to do. We no longer have to plan everything around the Jazz games, shell out bookoo bucks for playoff tickets and ride the the emotional roller coaster of wins and loses. Before we know it though, come October, we will be back in the swing of things.

KIDS SAY THE DARNDEST THINGS

Today we were outside playing and our neighbor, two doors down, came outside. The kids have seen him a few times, but not very often. Addi is so friendly, as soon as he came outside she excitedly said, "Hi!" He responded with a hello and a friendly smile. Then she came running over and yelled really loud, "Mom! That's Boozer!" Now, for those of you who don't know who Boozer is; he is Carlos Boozer, a power forward for the Utah Jazz. Yes, he's African American and so is our neighbor. I quietly said, "No Addi, that's not Boozer." Our neighbor was very nice and just smiled at us. Yeah, it was a little bit awkward. Afterward I just had to laugh at what Addi had said. I guess Tim's not the only one watching the Jazz games!:)

UTAH JAZZ TRIVIA WINNER!!!

After two long seasons of answering Utah Jazz trivia questions EVERYDAY to win a prize.... HE FINALLY WON!! HIP HIP, HOORAY!! Tim won an autographed, authentic, Deron Williams jersey! On the Jazz website it says, "Congratulations to T. Stubbs, our trivia winner." Tim is so excited, I just had to post something about it. The only problem is, the jersey is extra large and it goes down to Tim's knees! LOL! That's okay, I told him we will frame it.
